University of Nairobi, MLT 401
The Global Health Research Seminar aims to create a platform for training and mentoring graduate students at the University of Nairobi, more precisely, the Department of Public & Global Health. The Seminar will be geared toward helping trainees identify resources (literature, funding, mentors, and collaborators), and create linkages to these through Professor Richard Wamai's network in North America and elsewhere. It will also help trainees learn the process, ethics, and discipline of research as a career path thus motivating them in the global health sphere. There will be a focus on research design, grant writing, field operations and management, and research dissemination through conference presentations and scientific papers. The Seminar also provides a unique space for graduate trainees to present their dissertation topics, discuss with peers, and get support in direction. This will help build a mentorship structure for young scholars and researchers from across the University.
