Kenyans with chronic kidney disease know diet is important. But many don’t follow the guidelines

Chronic kidney disease is a condition that occurs when a person’s kidneys are damaged and can’t remove harmful waste from the blood. This can lead to high blood pressure and severe infections. The disease affects about 13.4% of the population globally. Around 1.23 million people died of chronic kidney disease in 2017.

Year V MBChB students community health rotation - January to March

Year V MBChB Term I rotation commenced on 4th January, 2021 and ended on 19th March, 2021 with examinations.

Fieldwork exercise began on 8th February, 2021 and ended on 19th March, 2021 with submission of Health Centre reports. 

The exercise was undertaken in the following Health Centers in Kiambu County: Ndeiya Health Centre, Gikambura Health Centre, Lusigetti Health Centre, Wangige Health Centre and Kihara Health Centre.
