On 9th October 2025, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nairobi Prof. Margaret Hutchinson officially signed a Collaboration Agreement (CA) establishing a collaborative partnership between the University of Nairobi and Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Bulgaria. This CA signifies a wide-ranging collaboration between the Department of Public and Global Health, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Nairobi, and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University.

On October 6-7, 2025, the Department of Public and Global Health, Faculty of Health Sciences,
University of Nairobi (UoN) had a meeting with faculty members from the Institute of Public Health,
University of Southern Denmark (SDU) with the aim of exploring opportunities for collaboration between

The Department of Public and Global Health held a physical orientation meeting for newly admitted students on Wednesday 10th September, 2025.

The session took place at the MPH Classroom from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

On May 16, 2025, the Department of Public and Global Health hosted students and Faculty from Northeastern University, Boston.

The Chair of Department Dr. Rose Opiyo welcomed the team led by Prof. Richard Wamai, Professor of Cultures, Societies and Global Studies at the University. 

Julian Gotsch, a PhD student from the University of Bremen, Germany being supervised by Prof. Joseph Wang'ombe, Emeritus Professor at the Department of Public and Global Health, made a courtesy call to Dr. Rose Opiyo-Chair of the Department on Thursday 15th April, 2025.

Discussions centered around research on the colonial legacy in healthcare policy in Kenya and possible future collaboration between the two institutions. 

On the visit of media specialists Dickson Migiro and Emmanuel Jambo to the Department of Public and Global Health

The Department of Public and Global Health received a Team from Northeastern University, Boston - Justin Repici (Academic Affairs), Brittany Harris (Global experience office), Khushal H. Safi (Global Security Office), and Prof. Richard Wamai, visiting professor in the Department under Emeritus Prof. Joseph Wangombe. The team, accompanied by Chair, Dr. Rose Opiyo and Dr. George Agot paid a courtesy call to the Dean of the Faculty of Health Science, Prof. George Osanjo.
